Hi there!!!
It is the Obon Holiday over here at the moment!! Below is a photo of some of Hana’s new Indian friends. They speak Punjabi and Hana speaks English and Japanese but they seem to be able to communicate with laughs and gestures!!!

We are at the inlaws house now, but will be going home later on today. Hana has had a great time playing with her cousins Haruna and Airi!! Maki is trying to join in, but is a bit too small!!

Anyway, best be off!!!
Kind regards,
Ed

Trip to Phuket!!

Hi there!! We have just come back from a week in Thailand. Our travel agent recommended the Marriot Resort in the north of the island away from all the night life etc, and it was perfect for families. Almost everyone there had kids, and everything we needed was nearby.

My brother Richard came out to meet us from England. Hana really enjoyed getting to know her Uncle Richard!! As she only sees him every year or two she took full advantage and got him in the pool every day!!

Hana made some new friends in the pool………..

Maki enjoyed looking for crabs on the beach. We found that when she wears a dress we don’t get as many people asking if she is  a boy or not!!

And after all that playing they usually went to sleep quite early!!
Anyway, best get back to watching the Olympics!!!
All the best,
Ed

Maki likes pizza!!

Hi there!!! We went over to Costco in Kawasaki, and discovered that Maki loves pizza!!! We ordered a pepperoni pizza for lunch and before we knew it she had grabbed some and was happily devouring it!!!!
Hana had a day out with her friend Amber yesterday. She will be moving to Canada next month, and I am sure Hana will miss her a lot. They do plan to be pen friends once they both learn to write though!!!
Anyway, I have attached some recent photos below……….

Happy New Year!!

Granny Wendy and Hana Lou
Happy New Year!!!!
My mum came over from England for New Year, so Hana was very excited to see her Granny Wendy again!! She promised she would get Hana some pink boots when she came over, so we went to Yokohama for a bit of shopping………..

On the boat
We decided to take a boat from Yamashita Park to Minato Mirai. The sun was shining and we got a great view of the harbor.

Trying on the pink boots!!
We searched high and low, and eventually found some pink boots!!

Mission accomplished!!

Then when we got the green light, we went back to the hotel for a rest before New Years Eve.

The Aquarium
The next day we went to Yokohama Sea Paradise, and saw all kinds of sea creatures……..

The Chocolate Marsh Mallow
Granny Wendy found a chocolate fountain in the restaurant we had lunch in, and brought some chocolate covered marsh mallow back to the table. Hana was very pleased!!!

At Katsumi's house

Then the next day we went over to one of my student’s houses for dinner and a few drinks. The Takada family were very welcoming, and we had a lovely meal. Hana kept us all amused, and was definitely the star of the show!!

The Uenos / Clarksons

The next day we went up to Narita to see the family. It was really crowded as everyone was trying to get to the shrine for New Year, but we had nice meal and all the kids enjoyed playing together.

Eel on a stick
On the way back from the shrine we got some eel on skewers as it was something we hadn’t really eaten before……….

The eel
It tasted as bad as it looked!!!

Matching clothes!!
Granny Wendy arrived with one suitcase full of presents and clothes!! Hana thinks its very funny that Maki and her now have matching clothes!!! Thank you Granny Wendy!!!!

Hope you all have a great 2012!!

Eddie
